Project Overview:
This project involved the construction of a fully integrated residential camp for United Nations private security personnel within the International (Green) Zone in Baghdad. The scope of work comprised the construction of three accommodation buildings, a fully equipped dining facility, and associated service and mechanical buildings. In addition, the project included the construction of complete infrastructure systems, covering sewerage networks, potable and service water supply systems, as well as medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical networks.
All civil, electrical, and mechanical works were executed using modern construction methods and smart building technologies. The mechanical works included HVAC systems, water pumping and drainage systems, and dedicated mechanical rooms. Fire protection systems were constructed in compliance with international standards and included fire detection, alarm, and fire-fighting systems fully integrated with the overall safety and building management systems.
Low current systems were a key component of the construction works and included fire alarm systems, communication and data networks, CCTV surveillance systems, and access control systems. The project was constructed within a high-security environment, requiring strict adherence to United Nations specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards, with close coordination among all construction disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
